“The new staging of the group of works is by the Stuttgart light artist Laurenz Theinert. With his installation composed of projectors and window transparencies, Theinert transfers the basic psychedelic melody of Buchheim’s posters to the entire space.”

In the revolt years of 1968 and 1969, Lothar-Günther Buchheim created a series of lithographs that he called PiPaPop Posters. The more than one hundred designs are his contribution to the time of upheaval. He unreservedly mixes the contemporary brightly colored design of the youth movement with the pictorial aesthetics of his parents’ generation. He lets the images and slogans of the opposing world views compete against each other in ironic play.
